At University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, we understand the importance of thorough preparation before any surgical procedure. Our experienced faculty providers at the Columbia location in Waterloo Crossing are here to ensure that you are in optimal health and fully prepared for anesthesia and surgery.

During your pre-operative visit, our team will conduct a detailed review of your medical history, identify any potential concerns, and ensure that all necessary evaluations and tests are completed. This careful preparation helps to minimize risks and contribute to the success of your surgery.

Scheduling Information

For your convenience, we recommend scheduling your pre-operative exam 5-7 days before your surgery. While we can accommodate appointments up to 72 hours before your scheduled procedure, please be aware that due to patient safety and pre-op clearance requirements, we are unable to accommodate exams when surgery is less than 72 hours away.

We also accept walk-ins on a limited basis, though scheduling in advance is strongly recommended to ensure availability.

Insurance Participation

Our practice accepts most commercial and Medicaid insurance plans. However, please note that prior authorization is required for VA, Tricare and Kaiser insurances.

Unfortunately, we do not accept the following insurances at this location:

  • JAI Medstar insurances
  • Medicare Advantage (HMO plans only)
  • Out-of-state Medicaid

We encourage you to contact our office to confirm whether your insurance is accepted before scheduling your appointment.
