Sports Medicine

University of Maryland primary care sports medicine specialists are committed to helping people return to their desired activities and to alleviate pain. Our physicians develop individual treatment plans based on the needs and goals of each patient. We use non-operative treatment plans whenever possible, and we utilize regenerative medicine techniques and modalities to promote recovery.

Our physicians are specialty trained and certified in both family medicine and sports medicine to ensure the full spectrum of care is offered. We treat patients of all ages for their sports-related injuries, from toddlers to older adults. Our services include:

Bracing and splints
Concussion management
Evaluation and care of fractures, sprains, strains and pain
Imaging services (X-ray)
Injury prevention
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment
Soft tissue care
Ultrasound-guided injections

If surgery is needed, we can quickly connect patients to board-certified surgeons from University of Maryland Orthopaedics.

As part of an academic medical center, our physicians have access to the latest research available, minimally-invasive techniques, and innovative clinical trials, providing promising new treatment options often years before they are available commercially. And, as team physicians for the Maryland Terps and UMBC Retrievers, our experts know plenty about keeping athletes and weekend warriors in the game.

Be seen within 48 hours. Call 667-214-1800 to schedule an appointment.
